Maldives Transport and Contracting Company has begun relocating and replanting trees as part of the Boduthakurufaanu Magu Segment 2 development, reinforcing its commitment to environmentally responsible project execution.
The initiative is being carried out in collaboration with , with several mature trees already successfully replanted at the Hulhumalé Channel Park area. The effort aims to minimise environmental disruption while ensuring long-term preservation of greenery within the urban landscape.

According to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company, the relocation programme forms part of broader sustainability measures embedded into the road development project. By carefully replanting trees rather than removing them permanently, the project seeks to balance infrastructure expansion with ecological stewardship.
The Boduthakurufaanu Magu Segment 2 works are a key component of ongoing efforts to modernise Malé City’s road network, while integrating climate-conscious practices into major public infrastructure projects.
