From culture to countdown, BML fuels Maldives’ biggest year-end celebration

By Ahmed Ashraf Published 11 hours ago

Bank of Maldives has been confirmed as the main sponsor of the Maldives Culture and Food Festival, reinforcing its role as a leading corporate partner in promoting national identity, tourism success, and community celebration.

The high-profile festival is jointly organised by Visit Maldives, the Ministry of Tourism and Environment, and the Housing Development Corporation. It will be held at Hulhumalé Central Park from December 30 to January 1, positioning Hulhumalé at the heart of the nation’s year-end celebrations.

The festival is designed to honour a landmark year for Maldivian tourism, marked by the country reaching its two million tourist target ahead of schedule and being crowned the world’s most popular destination for the sixth consecutive year. These milestones underscore the Maldives’ sustained global appeal and the effectiveness of its tourism promotion strategies.

Visitors to the three-day event can expect a vibrant showcase of Maldivian culture and cuisine, alongside entertainment zones featuring traditional boat displays, water sports activities, and family-friendly attractions. The programme also includes a large-scale drone show, New Year’s fireworks, and the official national countdown to welcome 2026.

By backing this flagship celebration, Bank of Maldives signals its continued commitment to supporting national achievements, cultural preservation, and inclusive public events that unite communities while projecting a confident image of the Maldives to the world.
