Ooredoo Maldives Launches ‘Text a Coffee’ to Make Digital Gifting Effortless

By Ahmed Ashraf Published January 8, 2026

Ooredoo Maldives has introduced a new digital gifting service designed to make everyday gestures more personal and effortless, allowing customers to send coffee, meals, and treats instantly through their mobile phones.

Launched on 7 January 2026, the ‘Text a Coffee’ service enables users to gift items such as coffee, ice cream, or meals to friends and family via the My Ooredoo App or the company’s web portal. The service is positioned as a quick, thoughtful way to stay connected, turning simple moments into meaningful experiences.

Using the platform, customers can select a gift from a curated list of partner cafés and restaurants and send it within seconds. Once a gift is sent, the recipient receives an SMS confirmation containing a unique transaction code, which can be redeemed directly at the selected outlet without any additional steps.

The service is available across all local mobile networks and currently partners with 13 popular food outlets nationwide. Among the participating brands are Dunk n Dip, Kabowl, Soho Coffee House, The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, and Bread Matters, offering customers a wide range of choices for different tastes and occasions.

According to Ooredoo Maldives, the initiative reflects the company’s broader strategy to expand its digital lifestyle services beyond traditional connectivity. By integrating simple gifting into its digital ecosystem, the telecom operator aims to strengthen social connections through small but impactful everyday interactions.

Customers can access the service through the My Ooredoo App or via the Ooredoo web portal, making it available anytime and anywhere across the Maldives.
