Dhiraagu has rolled out two targeted Ramadan giving initiatives through its DhiraaguPay platform, enabling customers to directly support vulnerable communities across the Maldives with just a few taps.
The telecom operator announced the launch of “Donate a Meal” and “Donate to a Family,” two structured community support programs designed to streamline charitable contributions during the holy month.
Under the “Donate a Meal” initiative, Dhiraagu has partnered with Mission for Migrant Workers Maldives to distribute meal packs to migrant workers near mosques across the Greater Malé Region. The company has already committed 1,000 meal packs to kickstart the campaign. Customers can further contribute by donating additional meal packs at MVR 60 per meal via DhiraaguPay.
In parallel, Dhiraagu has joined hands with Mom’s Aid to power the “Donate to a Family” initiative. Through this collaboration, customers can contribute towards Ramadan care baskets and Iftar packs for families in need nationwide. Dhiraagu is directly supporting 100 families with essential food care baskets valued at MVR 1,200 each. These baskets prioritise single mothers and households caring for children with disabilities. Unlike the fixed meal contribution, donors can contribute any amount towards this cause.
Both initiatives are accessible within featured service tabs on DhiraaguPay, with funds transferred directly to the respective NGOs. This direct payment mechanism enhances transparency while simplifying the donation process.
The move reflects a broader trend among Maldivian corporates leveraging digital payment ecosystems to integrate philanthropy into everyday financial transactions. With Ramadan traditionally marked by heightened charitable giving, Dhiraagu’s platform-driven approach positions DhiraaguPay as more than a payment solution, evolving it into a digital gateway for social impact.
Issued on 22 February 2026 by Dhiraagu’s Brand and Marketing Communications team, the initiatives aim to foster greater community connection while making structured giving more accessible during one of the most significant periods of the Islamic calendar.
As corporate-led social responsibility efforts gain momentum across the country, Dhiraagu’s Ramadan campaigns underscore the increasing role of fintech-enabled platforms in mobilising grassroots generosity at scale.
