Senior leadership, including Deputy Managing Director Mohamed Lam’aan, joined management and employees to commemorate the milestone. A ceremonial cake-cutting followed, symbolizing six decades of operations at the country’s primary international gateway.

As part of the celebrations, MACL’s leadership team visited various departments across the airport to personally meet staff, extending appreciation for their service and dedication.

The anniversary programme concluded with a special evening ceremony and tea gathering. During the event, awards were presented to recognize creativity and team spirit among employees, including winners of the anniversary logo design competition and the inter-departmental decoration contest.

The awards were presented by CEO Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed, closing a day that underscored both the historical significance of the airport and the role of its workforce in sustaining operations over the past 60 years.
