Bank of Maldives has opened applications for the Bank Fund 2026, its annual grant programme aimed at supporting registered NGOs and clubs across the Maldives in implementing sustainable community-focused initiatives.
Now in its third consecutive year, the programme will provide MVR 200,000 each to five selected projects under the key themes of education, environment, sports, and community development. In total, the Bank will allocate MVR 1 million through this year’s fund.
The initiative forms part of the Bank’s broader efforts to promote inclusive growth and strengthen civil society organisations throughout the country by empowering local communities to develop solutions tailored to their needs.
Commenting on the launch, Mohamed Shareef, CEO and Managing Director of Bank of Maldives, said the programme reflects the Bank’s belief that sustainable national progress begins at the community level.
“At Bank of Maldives, we firmly believe that lasting progress is built from the ground up. The Bank Fund reflects our dedication to enabling local organisations to turn their innovative ideas into tangible benefits for their communities,” he said.
He added that the Bank is encouraged by the impact created through previous editions of the programme and looks forward to supporting another group of sustainability-driven initiatives in 2026.
Since its introduction, the Bank Fund has supported nine NGOs in delivering projects addressing a wide range of local challenges and social development priorities.
Registered NGOs and clubs are invited to submit completed application forms and project proposals via email to [email protected] before 2:00pm on Sunday, 14 June 2026.
Detailed guidelines and application forms are available through the Bank’s official website.
