Fenaka Corporation has deployed two brand new generators to islands in Faafu and Raa atolls as part of ongoing efforts to improve and stabilize electricity services across the Maldives.
According to the company, the newly procured generators each have a capacity of 400 kilowatts and were dispatched yesterday to:
- Magoodhoo
- Innamadhoo
Fenaka stated that installation work on both generators is currently underway, with preparations being made to complete the process and bring the machines into operation by the end of today.
The utility company noted that Magoodhoo has been facing challenges in meeting growing electricity demand using its existing infrastructure.
At present, electricity services on the island are being provided through a 400kW generator alongside an additional 150kW genset.
Fenaka stated that the newly added capacity is expected to significantly ease the electricity difficulties experienced by residents of the island.

Meanwhile, Innamadhoo currently operates three generators with a combined installed capacity of 1000kW.
According to the company, all existing generators presently need to run simultaneously in order to meet the island’s electricity demand.
Fenaka said the addition of the new 400kW generator will help create a more stable and uninterrupted electricity supply while reducing pressure on the current system.
The company further emphasized that improving sustainable electricity services across islands remains a key priority, with continued investments being made to strengthen power infrastructure nationwide.
Once the generators are fully installed and operational, Fenaka expects the quality and reliability of electricity services in both islands to improve considerably.
