Compete for MVR 43,000 as Ooredoo Masrace Return

Ooredoo Maldives has opened registrations for Ooredoo Masrace 2026, inviting fishing enthusiasts from across the country to take part in the annual traditional fishing competition, which will be held next month in K. Maafushi.

Organised in partnership with the Ministry of Fisheries, Agriculture and Ocean Resources, this year’s event is scheduled to take place on 7 August and will feature a total prize pool of MVR 43,000.

Registration opened on 14 July and will remain open until 11:59 p.m. on 21 July. Teams wishing to participate must register online and consist of 12 members, including the team captain and officials.

The winning team will receive MVR 25,000, while the runners-up will take home MVR 10,000. The third-placed team will be awarded MVR 5,000.

Individual awards will also be presented during the competition, with Best Fisherman, Best Fisherwoman, and the participant recording the Biggest Catch each receiving MVR 1,000.
