Ooredoo Nation has been announced as the title sponsor of the PUBG MOBILE National Championship (PMNC) Maldives 2026, strengthening its commitment to the country’s growing esports industry and creating new opportunities for local gaming talent.
The championship, organised by the Maldives E-Sporting Association under the direction of Tencent Games, serves as the Maldives’ official PUBG MOBILE qualifying tournament. It marks the first stage of the “Road to PMGC”, giving the nation’s top teams a pathway to compete in regional championships and ultimately qualify for the PUBG MOBILE Global Championship (PMGC), the game’s most prestigious international tournament.
The competition will be held in three stages. The In-Game Qualifier Stage 2 will run online from 24 to 26 July, followed by the National Knockouts, Survivors Circle, from 3 to 7 August. The tournament will conclude with the LAN National Finals from 13 to 15 August, where the country’s best teams will battle for the national title.
Hussain Niyaz, Chief Commercial Officer of Ooredoo Maldives, said the company sees gaming as more than entertainment, describing it as a platform that creates opportunities for young people.
He said Ooredoo Nation remains committed to supporting the development of esports in the Maldives by helping gamers connect, compete and pursue their ambitions, while giving local players opportunities to reach regional and global competitions.
Maldives E-Sporting Association President Ismail Azmee Adnan welcomed the partnership, saying Ooredoo was the first brand to introduce a dedicated gaming segment in the Maldives and has played a pioneering role in developing the country’s esports ecosystem.
He added that the association looks forward to working closely with Ooredoo Nation to further strengthen competitive gaming and expand opportunities for Maldivian players.
Ooredoo Nation has continued to invest in the local gaming community through tournaments, events and initiatives aimed at encouraging competitive play and nurturing emerging esports talent. Fans will be able to follow the tournament through Ooredoo Nation’s official channels for match schedules, updates and highlights throughout PMNC Maldives 2026.
