Allied Insurance Company of the Maldives has participated in the Construction Industry Forum (CIF) 2026, contributing to discussions on supply chain disruptions and risk management as the construction sector navigates an increasingly uncertain global environment.
The forum, held at Grand Parkside, brought together construction industry professionals and other stakeholders to examine challenges facing the sector and discuss opportunities for strengthening its resilience.
Allied Insurance participated as the official insurance partner of the forum, while representatives from the company also took part as a panelist and speaker.
During a panel discussion titled “Re-engineering Supply Chains in an Age of Global Conflict,” Allied Insurance Customer Service Manager Hussain Sawaad discussed the changing pressures facing supply chains amid geopolitical tensions and disruptions to international trade.
The session focused on the importance of businesses strengthening supply chain resilience and adapting their operations to changing market conditions.
The issue is particularly relevant to the Maldivian construction industry, which depends heavily on imported building materials and equipment. Disruptions to international shipping routes, increases in freight costs and wider global instability can affect both the cost and timelines of development projects in the country.
Allied Insurance Assistant Manager of Sales Mariyam Asna also addressed the forum, delivering a presentation titled “Safeguard Your Construction Projects.”
Her presentation focused on the role of risk management and appropriate insurance coverage in protecting construction projects from unexpected events throughout different stages of development.
Construction projects can face a range of risks, from damage to property and equipment to accidents, delays and other unforeseen circumstances. Insurance and early risk assessment can therefore form an important part of protecting project owners, contractors and other parties against potential financial losses.
Allied’s participation in CIF 2026 comes as the Maldives continues to undertake significant construction activity across housing, tourism, transport and public infrastructure, increasing the importance of effective project risk management within the sector.
The company said its involvement in the forum forms part of efforts to strengthen engagement with industry stakeholders and contribute to discussions aimed at developing a more resilient and sustainable construction industry in the Maldives.
