Gang Violence Erupts in Malé City Last Night

By Ahmed Ashraf Published December 14, 2024

Gang altercations erupted in three locations across Malé City last night. According to police reports, the incidents took place within De Public on Muniyaa Magu in Maafannu, in front of Kinza Cafe on Shaheed Kudanevi Thuthu Maniku Hingun, and near Nooru Mosque on magu in Henveiru.

Eyewitnesses reported that sharp objects, specifically screwdriver, were used during the fight outside Kinza Cafe, resulting in one person being injured. In the De Public incident, witnesses stated that hammers were employed, with two individuals being targeted. However, it remains unclear whether there were any injuries from these encounters. The police have yet to confirm any arrests related to these events.

Reliable sources suggest that the ongoing disputes are linked to a conflict between two infamous criminal gangs in Malé.
