Solo Art Exhibition ‘Oyaa’ by Yaan Abdul Sattar at National Art Gallery, Malé City

The National Art Gallery is currently hosting a captivating solo art exhibition titled “Oyaa” by the renowned artist Yaan Abdul Sattar. Running from 12th December through 23rd December, the exhibition is open daily from 10:00 to 22:00, offering visitors an extraordinary opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of contemporary Maldivian art.

“Oyaa” features an impressive collection of 41 distinct artworks, ranging in size and intricacy, each painstakingly crafted from recycled materials. These materials, repurposed from plastic waste gathered along the shores of the Maldives, highlight Yaan’s commitment to environmental sustainability and artistic innovation.

As a highlight of this exhibit, a Live Art show will take place tonight, 22nd December, from 20:00 to 22:00. Guests will witness Yaan Abdul Sattar’s creative process firsthand as he brings new pieces to life before an audience.

The exhibition will conclude with a special closing ceremony on Monday, 23rd December, from 20:00 to 22:00. This event promises an evening celebrating art in all its forms, featuring an open mic session and delightful art bites. It will be a fitting tribute to the artist’s unique vision and dedication to environmental consciousness.

Art collectors and enthusiasts will be interested to note that the artworks are available for purchase or auction. The bidding for larger pieces in the Oyaa collection will conclude at precisely 22:00 on 22nd December 2024. At this time, each piece’s price will be fixed at its final bid value.
