Yellow alert in effect: Central Maldives anticipates rough seas and thunderstorms

Maldives Meteorological Service (MET Office) has issued a yellow alert for regions spanning from Noonu Atoll to Meemu Atoll, effective from 12:20 AM to 4:00 AM tonight. During this period, residents should anticipate heavy rainfall accompanied by strong thunderstorms. Wind speeds are expected to reach up to 40 miles per hour within cloud bands, leading to rough sea conditions.

Looking ahead, the forecast for the next 24 hours indicates that various parts of the country may experience rainy conditions, with some islands likely to receive heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms.
