Renovated Section of Ameenee Magu Reopened to Traffic After Repairs

The recently renovated section of Ameenee Magu, which had been closed for repairs, has now been reopened to public traffic after necessary improvements were made. The road, which was closed for repairs on January 11, underwent significant work by the Road Development Corporation (RDC).

The repair work focused on tarring and restoring the damaged sections of the road, specifically segments 11 and 12. The area was initially paved and developed in September 2023, but unfortunately, within a short period of time, the tar began to deteriorate and sink, creating substantial inconvenience for motorists.

Technical experts have pointed out that one of the issues was that the road was reopened to vehicles before the tarmac had fully dried, which led to the rapid degradation of the road surface. This early opening caused severe damage to the lane, necessitating the recent round of repairs.

With the completion of the work, drivers can now use the newly restored section of Ameenee Magu without the previous disruptions. The repairs have addressed the issues that caused significant traffic delays, improving the overall condition of the road for public use.
