Defenders of the Nation: Homeland Minister Ihusaan Praises Police Heroism in ‘Huvan’ Rescue

By Ahmed Ashraf Published March 3, 2025

In a heartfelt message on X (formerly Twitter), Homeland Minister Ihusaan expressed profound gratitude to the Maldives Police Service for their heroic actions during the recent ‘Huvan’ launch incident. The vessel, carrying 45 passengers and three crew members, sank amid massive waves en route from Alif Dhaalu Dhigurah to Malé City on Sunday morning.

Minister Ihusaan praised the officers’ courage, bravery, and steadfastness in saving lives without regard for their own safety, highlighting this as a perfect example of prioritizing the nation over oneself in national service.
