Ooredoo Maldives Sets Guinness World Record with Deepest Tech Talk Ever

In a bold fusion of technology and environmental consciousness, Ooredoo Maldives has etched its name into the Guinness World Records by hosting the largest underwater panel discussion ever recorded. The groundbreaking event took place beneath the crystal-clear waters of Fulhadhoo Island in the Baa Atoll, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve renowned for its pristine marine ecosystems.

Five distinguished panelists submerged themselves to engage in a fully underwater dialogue, each speaking for over two minutes. The panel comprised Ahmed Shiyam, Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Resources; Khalid Al-Hamadi, CEO of Ooredoo Maldives; Brigadier General Mohamed Saleem of the Maldives National Defence Force; Shabeen Ali, Director of Operations at Ooredoo Maldives; and Afsheen Mohamed, Senior Manager of Transmission at Ooredoo Maldives. The audience included MMPRC Managing Director Shiuree Ibrahim, senior Ooredoo officials, and international guests.

The discussion centered on the intersection of technology, sustainability, and national resilience, highlighting Ooredoo’s commitment to pushing boundaries. “This isn’t just about setting a record—it’s about proving that innovation has no limits,” stated CEO Khalid Al-Hamadi. “We are proud to host the world’s largest underwater panel discussion—a symbol of our belief that technology, when combined with courage and creativity, can take us beyond what we imagined possible.”
