President’s Office Unveils Ambitious Executive Development Program to Propel National Leadership

In a decisive move to fortify the nation’s leadership, the President’s Office inaugurated the Executive Development Program (EDP) 2025–2027 on Wednesday. This strategic initiative aims to enhance the capabilities of senior government officials and political appointees, ensuring they are well-equipped to navigate the complexities of modern governance.

The inaugural session, held at the architecturally renowned King Salman Mosque, saw a convergence of high-ranking officials from various government ministries and institutions. The event was spearheaded by the Political Appointees Performance Management (PAPM) Unit of the Political Affairs Office, in collaboration with the Civil Service Training Institute (CSTI) and the Foreign Service Institute of Maldives (FOSIM).

Renowned leadership expert Afeef Hussain delivered the keynote address titled “Leading and Transforming a Nation Through a Service Excellence Culture.” Drawing from his extensive experience in human capital development and organizational transformation, Hussain emphasized the pivotal role of service excellence in national progress. His insights resonated with attendees, setting a visionary tone for the program’s trajectory.

The EDP is meticulously designed to bolster managerial acumen, organizational efficiency, and inter-agency coordination among senior executives. Through a blend of interactive lectures, seminars, workshops, and expert-led dialogues, participants will engage in a comprehensive learning journey aimed at fostering innovative leadership and effective governance.

This initiative underscores the administration’s commitment to cultivating a cadre of competent leaders poised to drive the Maldives toward a prosperous future. By investing in the continuous development of its leadership, the nation reinforces its dedication to excellence, accountability, and transformative progress.
