The State Electric Company (STELCO) is set to make a high-voltage impression at Maldives Expo 2025, inviting the public to explore its legacy, technological advancements, and green energy ambitions during the national showcase at Hulhumalé Central Park.
Running from May 23rd to 31st, the exhibition promises an interactive experience that reflects STELCO’s 75-year journey as the nation’s leading power provider—highlighting its evolution from traditional energy systems to cutting-edge, sustainable solutions.
Visitors can explore the exhibit during two daily time slots: 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and again from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM, offering ample opportunity to engage with STELCO’s vision for the Maldives’ energy future.
Company officials say the booth will spotlight STELCO’s transformation over the decades—showcasing its role in electrifying the country’s islands, expanding infrastructure, and embracing renewable technologies. The exhibit is also expected to highlight recent innovations in smart grid systems, eco-conscious operations, and climate-resilient energy planning.
“Our participation is about more than looking back—it’s about inviting the public to imagine what’s next,” said a STELCO representative. “We’ve been powering the Maldives for 75 years, and the future is even more exciting.”
The exhibition aligns with STELCO’s ongoing efforts to strengthen public engagement and promote awareness around clean energy, energy efficiency, and sustainable development goals (SDGs). It also provides a platform to educate younger generations about the company’s role in national progress and its commitment to responsible energy use.
STELCO’s presence at the expo underscores its strategic direction: blending innovation with environmental stewardship while delivering uninterrupted, reliable electricity to communities across the archipelago.
Organizers encourage families, students, and energy enthusiasts to attend, noting that the booth will feature interactive displays, staff meet-and-greets, and multimedia elements designed to engage and inform.
With STELCO continuing to play a central role in powering homes, businesses, and public institutions, its Expo 2025 showcase is set to be a celebration of both legacy and leadership in the energy sector.
