Represent Your Island in Ooredoo’s First National PUBG Showdown

By Ahmed Ashraf Published 11 hours ago

Ooredoo Nation has officially opened registrations for its first-ever national-level esports competition, the Atoll Esports League, a PUBG Mobile tournament that invites teams from islands across the Maldives to battle it out online. Registration opened on June 16, 2025, and will close on July 4, 2025, at 23:59 local time.

The league, which offers a total prize pool of MVR 50,000, is structured into four online stages: Island Qualifiers, Quarter‑Finals, Semi‑Finals, and the Grand Finals . The top prize stands at MVR 25,000, with MVR 12,000 awarded for second place, MVR 6,000 for third, MVR 3,000 for fourth, and a special MVP prize of MVR 4,000.

Teams must register at least six players via the official portal. If more than one team represents an island, team names are required to include the island’s name (e.g., “ABC Kaashidhoo”). Each squad may also include up to two players from outside its island, without nationality or residency restrictions.

The Atoll Esports League is part of Ooredoo’s broader push to foster inclusive digital communities and support youth engagement in esports—building on earlier initiatives such as inter-resort gaming tournaments and velocity in gaming connectivity through AirFibre and GameOn Xtra services.

Ooredoo Maldives—a public limited telecommunications company based in Hulhumalé and offering 5G, 4G LTE, and digital financial services—has prioritized esports as a pillar in its strategy to broaden digital entertainment offerings.

Interested participants are encouraged to sign up at https://ore.do/atoll-league-pubgm before the July 4 deadline. This marks a major step in bringing competitive gaming to the national stage in the Maldives, creating island-wide pride and opportunity through online esports.
