In celebration of the official opening of the new terminal at Velana International Airport (VIA), a grand fireworks display will illuminate the skies over Malé and surrounding areas on the evening of July 26.
According to a statement issued by the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), the fireworks will begin at 20:30 and continue for approximately six minutes. The spectacle will be visible from 16 designated points across the waters encircling Malé and from three strategic locations around the airport vicinity.
This celebratory display coincides with the Maldives’ 60th Independence Day, amplifying the significance of the new terminal’s inauguration as a landmark moment in the country’s aviation and infrastructure development.
The MNDF urged the public to cooperate with safety instructions and enjoy the festivities responsibly.
