President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has set out this morning on a four-day visit to the islands of South Maalhosmadulu Atoll (Baa Atoll), reaffirming his administration’s commitment to bring government closer to the people and accelerate nationwide development.
The President’s packed itinerary will see him visit 13 inhabited islands — Kamadhoo, Kudarikilu, Kendhoo, Eydhafushi, Thulhaadhoo, Goidhoo, Fehendhoo, Fulhadhoo, Hithaadhoo, Kihaadhoo, Dhonfanu, Dharavandhoo, and Maalhos. On each island, he will meet with local councils and women’s development committees to directly address the community’s development needs, challenges, and aspirations.
President Muizzu’s visit will also include face-to-face engagements with residents, allowing him to assess living conditions and hear first-hand from the people he serves. This hands-on approach underscores the government’s pledge to make development an inclusive and community-driven process.
The Baa Atoll tour forms part of the President’s wider national outreach program — a series of visits to all atolls across the Maldives aimed at ensuring that every island’s voice is heard in shaping national policy. He is accompanied by ministers and senior government officials, reflecting the administration’s intent to provide immediate attention and coordinated solutions to local concerns.
By personally travelling to remote islands, President Muizzu is sending a clear message: this government is committed to delivering results on the ground, not just promises from afar.
