President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu today marked two major milestones for Kudarikilu, Baa Atoll, as part of his commitment to bring essential services closer to island communities.
In a ceremony attended by local leaders and residents, the President took part in the groundbreaking for the upgrade of the Kudarikilu Health Centre. Minister of Health Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim laid the foundation stone for a new building that will expand the facility’s capacity and improve healthcare access for the island.

On the same day, President Muizzu officially inaugurated the newly established Bank of Maldives (BML) Self-Service Banking ATM on Kudarikilu, personally making the first cash withdrawal. The new ATM is part of a nationwide initiative to extend BML’s banking network to all inhabited islands, ensuring convenient and secure financial services for every Maldivian.
