The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has announced temporary adjustments to its RTL bus service on Route R12 following scheduled road closures in the capital.
According to the company, the section of Boduthakurufaanu Magu from the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) area to Izzuddin Jetty will remain closed between August 18 and October 13, 2025. As a result, buses operating on the R12 route will bypass the Jumhooree Maidhaan bus stop during this period.
MTCC acknowledged the inconvenience the change may cause passengers but stressed that the adjustment is necessary to maintain uninterrupted public transport services while the road remains inaccessible. Customers are encouraged to use alternative stops nearby until normal service resumes.
The company also urged passengers to contact its customer service hotline at 1650 for further details and assistance.
MTCC operates the Raajje Transport Link (RTL) network, a public transport service designed to enhance connectivity within the Greater Malé region and across the Maldives. Route R12 is among the busiest urban bus lines, linking key areas of the capital and serving both residents and commuters.
The temporary route diversion comes as part of broader infrastructure works in Malé, where road development and utility upgrades are frequently carried out to accommodate the city’s growing population and traffic demands.
