In a stirring address at the graduation ceremony of the 39th Basic Training Course, Acting Commissioner of Police Ismail Naveen called upon 196 newly minted officers to uphold the highest standards of integrity and professionalism as they embark on their law enforcement careers.
The ceremony, held at the National College of Policing and Law Enforcement (NCPLE) in Addu City, marked the culmination of rigorous training for 210 recruits, including 162 men and 48 women.
Deputy Commissioner Naveen emphasized that donning the police uniform is not merely a job but a noble commitment to national service. He urged the graduates to be mindful of their actions, as any misconduct could tarnish the reputation of their families, the police institution, and the nation.
“Each of you now carries the responsibility to act with honesty, responsibility, and dedication,” Naveen stated. “Let your conduct reflect the honor of the Maldives Police Service and the trust placed in you by the public.”
Highlighting the importance of continuous personal and professional development, Naveen encouraged the officers to pursue further education and training. He stressed the need for adaptability, urging them to be prepared to serve in any police center across the country.
The Acting Commissioner also acknowledged the support of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu in enhancing the capabilities of the Maldives Police Service. He expressed gratitude for the government’s efforts to ensure that the police force meets the expectations and needs of the Maldivian people.
As the new officers prepare to take up their duties, Naveen’s message serves as a guiding principle: to serve with integrity, uphold the law, and maintain the public’s trust in the Maldives Police Service.
