BML Announces Winners of Fully Funded 2025 Scholarship Program

By Hussain Shinan Published October 19, 2025

The Bank of Maldives (BML) has announced the recipients of its 2025 BML Scholarship Fund, a fully funded program that enables outstanding Maldivian students to pursue undergraduate studies in banking and finance at some of the world’s top 200 universities.

The three awardees selected for this year are Mohamed Aahil Ahmed, Mariyam Jaishaan Jaleel, and Mohamed Shaun Hilmy.

Launched to nurture local talent and strengthen the Maldives’ financial sector, the BML Scholarship Fund covers full tuition and living expenses, offering students the opportunity to gain global exposure and contribute to the future of the national economy.

BML CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef congratulated the recipients, noting that the initiative reflects the Bank’s long-term commitment to developing the country’s human capital.

“Congratulations to this year’s scholarship recipients. Your dedication and efforts have earned you this well-deserved recognition. We are confident that the knowledge and experience you gain through this opportunity will contribute meaningfully to your professional growth and to the continued development of the Maldives’ financial sector,” Shareef said.

Since its inception in 2022, the BML Scholarship Fund has supported nine students who are currently studying at leading universities in the United Kingdom and Australia. The 2025 recipients will join this growing network of Maldivian scholars representing the country abroad.
