Launched as part of BML’s 40th anniversary community initiatives in 2022, the scholarship offers comprehensive financial support for three outstanding Maldivian students each year. Recipients will have the opportunity to pursue undergraduate degrees in fields such as accounting, financial technology, financial engineering, risk management, or financial reporting and analytics at top 200 universities worldwide.
The scholarship covers tuition fees, monthly stipends, visa fees, book and establishment allowances, and air tickets. Eligible applicants must be Maldivian citizens aged between 18 and 25 who have passed A Level examinations in all subjects. Applications are open until June 10, 2025.
BML’s CEO and Managing Director, Mohamed Shareef, emphasized the program’s role in building a skilled workforce: “The BML Scholarship Fund plays a vital role in building a strong pipeline of skilled professionals for the financial sector. By supporting young Maldivians to access world-class education, we are investing in the long-term growth and sustainability of banking and finance in the Maldives.”
