Chinese Ambassador Bids Farewell to Foreign Minister Dr. Abdulla Khaleel

hinese Ambassador to the Maldives, Wang Lixin, has paid a farewell visit to Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdulla Khaleel, marking the end of her three-year tenure in the country.

During the meeting, Minister Khaleel expressed his gratitude for Ambassador Wang’s significant contributions to strengthening the longstanding bilateral ties between the Maldives and China. He acknowledged her efforts in fostering cooperation and highlighted the critical support extended by China during her time in office.

In response, Ambassador Wang thanked the Maldivian government for its unwavering support throughout her tenure. She emphasized the robust partnership between the two nations and reaffirmed China’s commitment to deepening this relationship in the years ahead.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to reflect on the milestones achieved during her ambassadorship. Both sides reviewed ongoing projects and discussed future avenues for collaboration in areas of mutual interest, underscoring the enduring friendship between the two countries.

Ambassador Wang presented her credentials to former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on September 6, 2021, and has since played a pivotal role in advancing Maldives-China relations. As she prepares to depart, Minister Khaleel extended his best wishes for her future endeavors, inviting her to return as a friend of the Maldives.
