CleanTech Maldives Showcases Global-Standard Cleaning and Wellness Innovations

By Ahmed Ashraf Published August 12, 2025

CleanTech Maldives has successfully concluded its “Breathe Clean, Live Pure” Cleaning & Wellness Innovation Showcase, unveiling cutting-edge hygiene and wellness technologies now entering the Maldivian market.

Held on 9 August at Riveli Beach Club, Hulhumalé, the event gathered hospitality leaders, property managers, professional cleaning companies, consultants, and wellness-conscious individuals from across the country. Attendees witnessed live demonstrations of industry-certified solutions already trusted by top hotels in Europe, Australia, and the Middle East — now set to elevate Maldives’ cleaning and hygiene standards.

Highlighting Sustainability and Global Standards
Chief Guest Ms. Maha Naseer, Board Member of the Maldives Marketing & PR Corporation (MMPRC), stressed the importance of innovation, hygiene, and sustainability in maintaining the Maldives’ position as a premier luxury tourism destination. She praised CleanTech Maldives for introducing technologies that meet global benchmarks and enhance operational excellence in local hospitality.

Janet Smailes, Hygiene & Food Safety Consultant at FHC Maldives, delivered a keynote on the environmental and business risks of improper cleaning and chemical misuse, urging industry players to adopt sustainable, health-conscious practices.

Revolutionary Solutions on Display
The showcase introduced three standout products:

  • Medeco Cleantec (Austria) – A chemical-free steam cleaning system for deep hygiene in hospitality, healthcare, and high-traffic environments, presented by Mr. Fritz Pattis.
  • Hyla International (Germany) – A water-based vacuum and air purification system removing allergens, dust, and odors, presented by Mr. Stefan Paul Fürschuß.
  • Symbio Harmoniser (Austria & Maldives) – A wellness enhancement technology that complements Medeco and Hyla solutions, presented by Mrs. Daniela Darxl and Mr. Aanu Haathif.

Exclusive Distribution Agreements Signed
A major milestone was the signing of exclusive Maldives distribution agreements with Medeco Cleantec GmbH and Hyla International, ensuring the availability of these advanced systems in the local market.

A Vision Rooted in Passion
CleanTech Maldives CEO Mohamed Bassam Adam reflected on the company’s journey since its 2016 launch as the nation’s first eco-friendly cleaning company. From pioneering sensitive-surface cleaning solutions to leading nationwide COVID-19 disinfection efforts, he reaffirmed the company’s mission:

“We go beyond basic cleaning. Our aim is to deliver cost savings, operational efficiency, and industry-leading hygiene standards while strengthening the Maldives’ reputation as a world-class hospitality destination.”

The event concluded with a networking lunch and wellness gift packs for attendees, fostering new partnerships to drive cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environments across the Maldives.
