The Maldives has launched its most ambitious tourism showcase to date at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2025, marking a strategic pivot in its global promotional efforts. With over 260 Maldivian representatives across 111 exhibitors, the island nation is making a significant statement at the Middle East’s premier travel trade event.
Held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from April 28 to May 1, ATM 2025 has attracted more than 2,600 exhibitors and over 55,000 travel professionals from 166 countries, making it one of the largest gatherings in the event’s history. The fair’s theme, “Global Travel: Developing Tomorrow’s Tourism Through Enhanced Connectivity,” underscores the importance of cross-border collaboration in shaping the future of tourism.
The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has designated ATM 2025 as its flagship international tourism event, surpassing traditional European fairs like ITB Berlin. This strategic shift aims to leverage Dubai’s accessibility and the growing interest from Middle Eastern travelers.
At the heart of the Maldivian pavilion, visitors can experience the nation’s rich cultural heritage through traditional music and dance performances, as well as sample authentic Maldivian cuisine. A highlight of the Maldives’ presence is the “Maldivian Evening 2025,” an event showcasing the country’s unique offerings to potential partners and tourists.
In a bid to enhance its visibility, MMPRC has partnered with Liverpool Football Club to launch a co-branded campaign. Dubai’s green taxis now feature eye-catching wraps combining images of the Maldives with prominent LFC players, aiming to capture the attention of both travel enthusiasts and football fans.
Tourism Minister Thoriq Ibrahim, MMPRC Managing Director Ibrahim Shiuree, and Chairperson Abdulla Ghiyas are among the senior officials leading the Maldives’ delegation. Their participation underscores the nation’s commitment to strengthening its tourism sector and forging new partnerships in the region.
With its largest-ever presence at ATM, the Maldives is poised to attract a broader audience, reinforcing its status as a premier luxury destination in the global tourism landscape.
