Dhiraagu has marked the International Day of Education by launching its new Student Connect programme, reaffirming its long-term commitment to youth empowerment through digital access, innovation, and connectivity.

The initiative was officially introduced on 24 January 2026 with an exclusive student-only event that brought together college and university students for an evening designed around engagement, entertainment, and tangible value. The inaugural edition, branded as the ISIC Edition, featured special student offers, interactive activities, gaming experiences, and live entertainment, positioning the programme as both a lifestyle and learning-focused platform.
A key highlight of the event was the distribution of a complimentary one-year Dhiraagu x ISIC Student Discount Card to participants. The card provides access to a wide range of benefits and discounts locally and internationally, extending the programme’s value well beyond the event itself and supporting students in their academic and everyday lives.

Speaking at the launch, Dhiraagu Chief Commercial Officer Ali Riyaz said the company’s approach to student engagement goes beyond basic connectivity. He noted that Dhiraagu aims to create meaningful opportunities for young people by offering practical benefits and engaging with them in environments that resonate with their ambitions, helping them move forward with confidence.
Emphasising the growing role of technology in modern education, Dhiraagu Director of Brand and Marketing Communications Mirshan Hassan highlighted the importance of digital enablement. He said access to high-speed connectivity and emerging technologies, including AI-driven learning tools, is essential for students to succeed academically, professionally, and creatively in an increasingly digital-first world.
Representing ISIC Maldives, Ilyas Haneef welcomed the continued collaboration with Dhiraagu, describing the Student Connect initiative as a strong example of how partnerships can deliver real, measurable value to the student community. He added that the longstanding relationship between the two organisations has enabled initiatives that directly benefit Maldivian youth.
Dhiraagu said the Student Connect programme forms part of its broader strategy to provide young people with access to global opportunities, practical benefits, and digital solutions, reinforcing its position as a key enabler of youth development in the Maldives.
