Elderly Man Murdered in AA. Maalhos: Black Magic Suspected in Shocking Attack

By Ahmed Ashraf Published 9 hours ago

An elderly man from AA. Maalhos has died after sustaining serious injuries in what is believed to be a violent attack inside his home. The victim, identified as 65-year-old Abdul Rahman Adam of Orchid Mage, AA. Maalhos was pronounced dead early Sunday morning after being rushed to the island’s health center around 2 a.m.

According to Maldives Police Service, officers were alerted when Abdul Rahman was brought in for emergency treatment, but he succumbed to his injuries soon after. A special investigative team from Malé has been dispatched to Maalhos to support the ongoing probe.

Local sources revealed that only Abdul Rahman and his wife were at home during the incident. The couple reportedly slept in separate rooms that night. The attack is said to have occurred while Abdul Rahman was lying on his side. His wife, assisted by a few residents, transported him to the health center following the assault.

Community members noted that Abdul Rahman was rumored to be involved in sorcery practices, although there is no official confirmation regarding any connection to the crime. The couple has three children, all living off the island.

Police have assured that all leads are being thoroughly investigated as they work to determine the circumstances and motive behind the fatal attack.
