Hawks Hotel has taken a major step in boosting Kamadhoo’s tourism appeal by partnering with Maldivian, the national airline, to launch direct seaplane services to the island.
The first seaplane flight landed in Kamadhoo today, carrying two tourists who were greeted with a warm island welcome. Scheduled services will officially begin on September 11, 2025, with flights operating every Thursday and Saturday, offering guests of Hawks Hotel and other visitors faster and more convenient access to the island.
Partnership to Strengthen Kamadhoo’s Tourism Profile
The agreement between Hawks Hotel and Maldivian was signed on August 11, 2025, during President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s visit to Baa Atoll. At a well-attended community ceremony, Hawks Hotel General Manager Hussain Aman signed on behalf of the property, while Maldivian Managing Director Ibrahim Iyas represented the airline.

Through this collaboration, Hawks Hotel is positioning itself as a gateway for visitors seeking authentic island experiences in Baa Atoll, home to the UNESCO-listed biosphere reserve and some of the Maldives’ most pristine marine ecosystems. The direct air link significantly cuts travel time for international guests, ensuring a seamless journey from Velana International Airport straight to Kamadhoo.
A Milestone for Guest Experience
Hawks Hotel’s leadership has emphasized that the launch of seaplane services reflects its commitment to enhancing guest convenience and supporting the wider development of Kamadhoo as a sustainable tourism destination. By aligning with the national carrier, Hawks ensures that its guests benefit from reliable connectivity while also bringing long-term economic opportunities to the island community.
With regular flights secured, Hawks Hotel expects Kamadhoo to attract more tourists seeking both tranquility and accessibility. The project not only elevates the guest experience but also reinforces Hawks Hotel’s role as a pioneer in linking community-based hospitality with the Maldives’ world-class aviation network.
