In a landmark move to strengthen B. Kamadhoo’s tourism and economic potential, a new agreement has been signed between Island Aviation and Hawks Hotels to launch seaplane services to the island. The signing took place during President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s ongoing tour of B. Atoll, with Kamadhoo marking the first stop of his visit.
The agreement was formalized by Hawks Hotels Director Hussain Aman and Island Aviation Managing Director Ibrahim Iyas, signaling a strategic partnership aimed at improving accessibility and attracting more high-value tourists to the island.
Speaking to Kamadhoo residents, President Muizzu underscored the significance of the initiative, stating that the introduction of seaplane services would deliver “substantial economic benefits” to the community. He highlighted Kamadhoo’s already thriving local tourism sector and noted that expansion efforts were “advancing at a rapid pace” under his administration.
Reaffirming his government’s commitment, President Muizzu stressed that Kamadhoo holds a key position in the nation’s tourism map and that enhancing its connectivity is essential to unlocking its full potential.
This development aligns with the administration’s broader vision to boost regional economies through targeted infrastructure and transport investments, ensuring that local communities directly reap the benefits of the Maldives’ world-renowned tourism industry.
