First Lady Sajidha Mohamed has begun a campaign visit to GDh. Thinadhoo City, where she is engaging with residents and rallying support for candidates contesting under the ruling People’s National Congress (PNC) in the upcoming Local Council and Women’s Development Committee (WDC) elections.

A large number of residents gathered at the harbour to welcome her upon arrival, marking the start of a tour that is expected to include several southern atolls.
During her visit to Thinadhoo, the First Lady has been meeting members of the public through door-to-door visits, checking on the wellbeing of residents while also encouraging support for PNC candidates.

Her campaign schedule is set to continue beyond Thinadhoo, with planned visits to Fuvahmulah City and Addu City in the coming days.
Sajidha has been actively involved in campaign efforts in recent weeks, including participation in events held in Malé. These have included the opening of campaign centres, where she addressed supporters and urged voters to back PNC candidates, as well as encouraging strong voter turnout in the elections.

Her growing presence in campaign activities has drawn attention, with supporters praising her direct engagement with communities and visible role in the lead-up to the polls.
The Local Council and WDC elections are expected to be a key political contest, shaping governance at the island and city level across the Maldives.
