Kandima Resort Unveils Maldives’ First Go-Kart Racing Track

By The Standard Published October 29, 2024

Kandima Resort in Dhaalu Atoll has launched the first-ever go-kart racing track in the Maldives, marking an exciting new chapter for the country’s tourism offerings. The nearly 500-meter track, which promises an adrenaline-pumping experience for visitors, is officially set to open on November 15.

As one of the longest go-kart tracks in the region, this new addition allows racers to reach speeds of up to 80 kilometers per hour, featuring 12 thrilling bends designed to challenge both amateur and seasoned racing enthusiasts. Offering a unique opportunity for high-speed excitement in the heart of the Indian Ocean, the track is designed for eco-conscious racing, using electric karts to maintain a sustainable approach.

“We are excited to bring a unique and thrilling experience to the Maldives,” said a representative from Kandima Resort. “This track is not only an opportunity for fun but also part of our commitment to sustainability, with electric karts offering an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional racing.”

Safety has been prioritized on the track, with the karts equipped with adjustable seating, safety barriers, and full seat belts to ensure a secure and comfortable experience for riders of all ages. Additionally, Marshall posts are strategically placed along the course to guide participants, helping to maintain safety while allowing them to fully enjoy the high-speed action.

To ensure all guests feel confident behind the wheel, new racers will receive a detailed safety briefing before taking to the track. This session includes kart handling and driving techniques, ensuring that both beginners and experienced drivers have the skills to race safely.

The resort has also introduced special packages for children and families, making the activity accessible to all ages and providing a fun way for families to bond during their stay.

The opening of the go-kart track has already generated a buzz on social media, with many eager to experience this one-of-a-kind attraction. As part of Kandima Resort’s diverse range of offerings, this new activity aims to enhance the guest experience and add an exciting dimension to the resort’s already impressive lineup of recreational options.

With its unique combination of high-speed racing and eco-friendly practices, Kandima Resort’s go-kart track is poised to become one of the most popular and exciting attractions in the Maldives.
