New Radiant Sports Club has bolstered its leadership by appointing Mohamed Lamman—also Deputy Managing Director at Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL)—as its new Vice Chairman, the club announced via social media.
The board of New Radiant proudly introduced Mohamed Lamman to the role, expressing anticipation for his leadership and the promising road ahead under his guidance.
Lamman’s appointment comes during a critical phase for New Radiant, which is actively rebuilding and aiming to reclaim its place in Maldives’ top-tier football. His dual executive experience at MACL—where he serves as Deputy Managing Director—brings valuable management acumen to the club’s renewed ambitions.
Founded in 1979, New Radiant is the most decorated football club in Maldives, renowned for multiple domestic league titles, President’s Cups, FA Cups, and success in regional competitions like reaching the AFC Cup semi-finals in 2005 . However, in recent years, the club faced setbacks due to financial challenges and relegation, stirring a determined effort to stage a comeback.
With Lamman stepping into an influential leadership position, expectations are high that his strategic insight and corporate governance experience will accelerate New Radiant’s revival. The club’s supporters and stakeholders will be watching closely as the “Blues” aim to reclaim their dominance on and off the field.
