MACL contributes MVR 250,000 to “Maldivians for Ceylon” telethon

By Ahmed Ashraf Published 3 hours ago

Maldives Airports Company Limited has contributed MVR 250,000 to the ongoing “Maldivians for Ceylon” telethon, strengthening the nationwide relief effort to support Sri Lanka as the country battles severe flooding and widespread destruction caused by storm Dithuvaa.

The donation was handed over to the telethon team today as part of MACL’s commitment to stand with communities in crisis. The company’s contribution adds strong momentum to the national campaign, which is uniting citizens, institutions, and businesses across the Maldives.

Sri Lanka, one of the Maldives closest neighbours, continues to face extensive damage, loss of life, and displacement as heavy rains overwhelm several regions. The telethon, led by Public Service Media with the participation of 37 media outlets, aims to mobilise rapid relief for affected families.

Organisers have urged the public and corporate community to keep contributing as the telethon proceeds until 1.00 AM tonight. Donations can be made easily through cash, cheques, QR scan payments, or direct bank transfers.
