Maldivian launches “Snack & Fly” retail service on domestic flights

By Ahmed Ashraf Published 2 hours ago

Maldivian, the national airline of the Maldives, has rolled out a new onboard retail service across selected domestic routes, offering passengers a curated range of snacks, beverages, and local souvenirs for purchase during their journey.

The initiative, branded under the “Snack & Fly” concept, underscores the airline’s focus on elevating customer convenience and comfort on short-haul flights. Travelers can now purchase refreshments and light snacks directly from cabin crew, enjoying a streamlined in-flight shopping experience tailored to their needs.

Beyond food and beverages, the service also features authentic Maldivian souvenirs, giving passengers—particularly international visitors—a chance to take home meaningful keepsakes that reflect the country’s culture and charm.

According to Maldivian, the new service is designed to allow passengers to personalize their travel experience while ensuring consistent quality and service. The airline has also indicated plans to expand the range of products offered in response to passenger feedback and operational insights, keeping the service dynamic and customer-driven.

This onboard retail launch comes as part of Maldivian’s wider strategy to strengthen its role as the country’s flagship carrier by investing in passenger-focused innovations. The airline continues to emphasize safe, reliable, and efficient operations while exploring new ways to enhance the overall journey for travelers flying across the Maldives’ dispersed island network.
