Maldivians With Ceylon, PNC MPs Donate MVR 300K as Total Surpasses MVR 1.5 Million

By Ahmed Ashraf Published 12 hours ago

The People’s National Congress parliamentary group has contributed MVR 300,000 to the “Maldivians with Ceylon” telethon, adding strong momentum to the nationwide effort to support flood hit Sri Lanka. The donation was made today as collections continue to rise steadily.

According to the latest update from organisers, the telethon has so far raised MVR 1,500,953.44 and USD 37,502.00. Both currencies remain open for public donations until the end of the telethon.

The contribution from the PNC parliamentary group strengthens the collective response that has brought together the public, state owned companies, private businesses, and community organisations to assist Sri Lankan families affected by storm Ditwah.

The telethon team continues to encourage the public to donate through cash, QR payments, bank transfers, and collection boxes placed across Malé, Hulhumalé, and Villimalé.

The telethon remains a national call for compassion at a time when Sri Lanka is facing severe flooding, heavy damage, and widespread displacement.
