Commissioner Naveen brings nearly three decades of experience within the Maldives Police Service. Since joining in July 1994, he has held leadership roles including Head of the Corporate Services Directorate, People Directorate, Central Policing Command, and Forensic Services Directorate. Most recently, he served as Deputy Commissioner and briefly as acting Police Chief in late April .
Academically, he holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia, and a Bachelor of Law from the University of Northumbria, England .
Naveen assumes leadership at a critical juncture, as the Maldives Police Service faces increased public scrutiny following high-profile incidents. His appointment signals a leadership pivot intended to reinforce institutional integrity, transparency, and public trust.
