According to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company, the relocation programme forms part of broader sustainability measures embedded into the road development project. By carefully replanting trees rather than removing them permanently, the project seeks to balance infrastructure expansion with ecological stewardship.

The Boduthakurufaanu Magu Segment 2 works are a key component of ongoing efforts to modernise Malé City’s road network, while integrating climate-conscious practices into major public infrastructure projects.
