No Gas Worries This Ramadan, STO Confirms Stable Supply

By Ahmed Ashraf Published 4 hours ago

The State Trading Organization has confirmed that recent challenges affecting the supply of cooking gas will be fully resolved within the coming week, dismissing public concerns over a potential shortage.

In a statement issued today, assured that there will be no disruption to household gas availability, with 10kg cooking gas cylinders scheduled to be back in regular circulation from next week.

STO acknowledged that temporary pressures on global supply chains have affected international gas markets. However, the company stressed that it continues to work closely with the Maldives’ two primary gas importers to maintain stable supply levels and ensure gas is sold at controlled prices, shielding consumers from international price volatility.

With the holy month of Ramadan fast approaching, STO emphasized that proactive measures are already in place to guarantee an uninterrupted supply of cooking gas nationwide. The company said these preparations are aimed at preventing inconvenience to households during the peak consumption period.

STO also categorically dismissed circulating rumors of an impending gas shortage, reaffirming its commitment to maintaining reliable access to essential commodities and urging the public not to be misled by unverified claims.

The assurance comes as part of STO’s broader mandate to safeguard national supply chains and ensure price stability for essential goods, particularly during culturally and economically sensitive periods such as Ramadan.
