He underscored the necessity of equipping the younger generation with the knowledge and resilience needed to navigate future challenges.
“Our children are the architects of tomorrow’s Maldives,” President Muizzu stated in his address. “To ensure they are ready to lead, we must instill in them an awareness of the world’s swift transformations and the courage to adapt.”
This year’s Children’s Day theme, “Happy Connections, Happy Times, Happy Children,” highlights the significance of nurturing relationships and quality time between parents and children. The Ministry of Social and Family Development noted that such bonds are crucial for fostering confidence and resilience in young minds .
President Muizzu also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment for all children. Initiatives are underway to enhance children’s well-being across the nation, including plans to construct libraries to provide access to knowledge and enrichment opportunities .

Highlighting that children constitute one-fourth of the Maldivian population, he underscored the importance of nurturing them into individuals who uphold the nation’s sovereignty, dignity, and civilization.
Drawing inspiration from the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), the President remarked on the innate purity of children and the significant influence of parental guidance. “A newborn child enters this world in a state of natural purity. The child’s behavior and beliefs are shaped by the upbringing provided by the parents,” he noted.
Emphasizing the innocence and straightforwardness of children, President Muizzu called upon society to provide environments—be it at home, on the streets, or elsewhere—where mutual respect, good manners, and ethics prevail. He advocated for contemporary and future-oriented education, ensuring that the nation’s glory and dignity are carried forward by patriotic, Muslim children.
Addressing the youth directly, the President advised them to cherish these formative years, pursue daily learning, perform the five daily prayers, respect religion, and familiarize themselves with Maldivian traditions. “Let the love you have for your mother extend to your country as well,” he urged, emphasizing the adoption of healthy habits and obedience.
“Children are the coolness of our eyes. The peace of our hearts. The continuity of our nation,” President Muizzu proclaimed, asserting that proper upbringing is the greatest assurance for a prosperous future.
Concluding his address, he offered prayers for the well-being and bright futures of all Maldivian children: “May Allah grant every Maldivian child intelligence, well-being, and safety, and bestow upon them a bright future. Amen.”
