Ooredoo Maldives Launches 2026 Calendar Inspired by Tea Culture

By Hussain Shinan Published January 26, 2026

Ooredoo Maldives has launched its 2026 corporate calendar under the theme “Tea with Ooredoo,” celebrating the simple, everyday moments that bring people together in Maldivian life.

Unveiled as part of the company’s annual tradition of storytelling through design, the 2026 calendar draws inspiration from tea, a deeply rooted cultural practice across the Maldives. From family homes to casual gatherings among friends, tea has long served as a symbol of connection, conversation, and pause in daily routines.

In Maldivian culture, tea is more than a beverage. It is often how the day begins, how relationships are nurtured, and how moments of togetherness are created. The familiar phrase “Hingaa sayah?” is widely understood as an invitation to connect — a sentiment that forms the foundation of this year’s calendar concept.

Reflecting this tradition, each month of the 2026 calendar highlights a distinct tea blend inspired by locally enjoyed flavours, incorporating flowers, fruits, and herbs found across the Maldives. The visuals accompanying each month are designed to celebrate these flavours, blending cultural identity with creative expression.

Speaking about the concept, Khalid Al-Hamadi, CEO and Managing Director of Ooredoo Maldives, said the calendar reflects the company’s belief that connection goes beyond technology.
“At Ooredoo Maldives, we believe connection is not just about networks, but about people and the moments that bring them closer. Tea is one of the simplest yet most meaningful traditions in Maldivian life, and through our 2026 calendar, we wanted to honour that everyday connection,” he said.

Expanding on previous editions, Ooredoo Maldives has introduced the 2026 calendar in multiple formats, including a desk calendar, wall calendar, and a digital version, allowing customers to experience the theme throughout the year in different ways. In line with the concept, the desk calendar includes specially formulated green tea blends, offering a sensory and interactive element to daily use.

A digital version of the calendar is also available online, enabling customers to enjoy the visuals across devices and platforms.

Ooredoo Maldives said it hopes the 2026 calendar becomes part of daily routines — whether displayed on desks, walls, or screens — serving as a reminder of culture, connection, and togetherness throughout the year.
