In a social media post today, President Muizzu warned that such actions would only deepen the humanitarian crisis in the occupied Palestinian territories, further threatening regional peace and stability. He reaffirmed the Maldives’ unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, stressing that any attempt to seize Gaza or undermine Palestinian sovereignty is “unacceptable”.
“The international community must act without delay to halt Israel’s plan, end its aggression in Palestine, and ensure accountability for all violations committed in the occupied territories” the President urged.
The Maldives has long maintained a firm stance in solidarity with Palestine, consistently advocating for justice, self-determination, and the restoration of Palestinian rights on international platforms.
