President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has inaugurated the Water and Sewerage Services in Shaviyani Goidhoo, marking another major achievement in the government’s efforts to expand essential infrastructure across the Maldives.
The project, successfully completed by the Malé Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC), introduces clean drinking water and modern sanitation systems to the residents of Goidhoo — a long-awaited service aimed at improving public health and quality of life on the island.
According to MWSC, the project was carried out with the goal of providing sustainable access to safe water and efficient sewerage facilities in line with the company’s mission to enhance living standards across all inhabited islands.
The completion of this project adds to MWSC’s growing portfolio of nationwide developments, as similar water and sewerage systems have recently been launched in several other islands. The company continues to play a leading role in supporting the government’s vision to ensure that every island in the Maldives has access to vital utility services.
Residents of Goidhoo have expressed their appreciation for the new development, describing it as a transformative step that will bring greater convenience, improved hygiene, and a healthier environment for future generations.
