President Dr Mohamed Muizzu officially inaugurated the newly constructed main headquarters of the People’s National Congress tonight, marking a key step in strengthening the party’s organisational capacity ahead of upcoming political contests.
The new headquarters, located at H. Veyovilla directly opposite the Artificial Beach in Malé, was opened during a ceremony attended by a large gathering of party supporters and senior figures.

Addressing the crowd, the President said the establishment of the new office represents a major milestone in expanding the activities of the PNC and accelerating its progress within the framework of democratic values and responsible political conduct. He stressed that strong party institutions are essential for sustained political engagement and effective representation of public interests.
President Muizzu also expressed appreciation to all individuals and groups who contributed to the completion of the project, noting that collective effort and commitment were central to bringing the headquarters into operation.
The five-storey building has been designed to serve both political and administrative functions. The ground floor will operate as a political hub, or jagaha, facilitating party engagement and grassroots activities, while the upper floors will house the party’s administrative offices.
Party officials said the new headquarters is expected to play a central role in coordinating political activities, strengthening outreach, and supporting the PNC’s organisational work as the party prepares for forthcoming elections.
