President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed have arrived in the Saudi Arabia to perform the holy pilgrimage of Umrah, marking the next phase of their official visit hosted by the Saudi government.

Upon arrival at Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport, the President was warmly received by Salman bin Sultan Al Saud, Governor of Madinah, along with Ibrahim Barri, Director of Royal Protocol.
The visit is being undertaken under full hospitality extended by the Saudi government, with all expenses covered, reflecting the strong and enduring ties between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia.

Sources with close relations to Saudi–Maldives ties state that this marks the first time two Umrah pilgrimages and one Hajj, along with private jet arrangements, have been facilitated for a sitting Maldivian President within a single term, with all associated expenses paid by the Saudi government, underscoring the depth of ties between the Saudi government and President Muizzu.
Umrah remains a deeply significant spiritual journey for Muslims worldwide, and the President’s visit highlights both religious devotion and the continued strengthening of bilateral relations grounded in shared Islamic values and cooperation.
