President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed have departed for the to perform the holy pilgrimage of Umrah, with the Kingdom extending full hospitality for the visit.
According to official details, all expenses related to the trip are being covered by the Saudi government, reflecting strong diplomatic goodwill and longstanding ties between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia. The arrangements for the visit were finalized in early February.
Sources close with Saudi government marks that this is the first time one Hajj and two Umrah trips, along with private jet arrangements, have been facilitated by the Saudi government for a sitting Maldivian President within a single term, underscoring the depth of ties between Saudi government and President Muizzu.
