Upon landing at Beijing Capital International Airport, the Maldivian leader was received with full honours, reflecting the strong and historic ties between the two nations. He was welcomed by His Excellency Wang Xiangxi, Minister of Emergency Management of China, Maldives’ Ambassador to China Dr Fazeel Najeeb, and Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives Kong Xianhua.
As part of the official reception, President Muizzu was accorded an Honour Guard and greeted with a vibrant cultural performance showcasing China’s rich heritage, underscoring the importance Beijing attaches to the visit.
President Muizzu’s trip comes at a pivotal moment in Maldives–China relations, strengthening high-level engagement between the two countries.
